संस्कृत रत्नावलि: (Sanskrit Ratnavali)
१. चन्दनं शीतलं लोके ,चन्दनादपि चन्द्रमाः |
चन्द्रचन्दनयोर्मध्ये शीतला साधुसंगतिः ||
भावार्थः
चन्दन को संसार में सबसे शीतल लेप माना गया हैं लेकिन कहते हैं चंद्रमा उससे भी ज्यादा शीतलता देता हैं लेकिन इन सबके अलावा अच्छे मित्रो का साथ सबसे अधिक शीतलता एवम शांति देता हैं।
Meaning:
Chandan is considered the coldest coat in the world, but it is said that the moon gives more coldness than that, but apart from all this, the best of friends along with it gives the most coolness and peace.
२. अलसस्य कुतो विद्या , अविद्यस्य कुतो धनम् |
अधनस्य कुतो मित्रम् , अमित्रस्य कुतः सुखम् ||
भावार्थ :
जो आलस करते हैं उन्हें विद्या नहीं मिलती, जिनके पास विद्या नहीं होती वो धन नहीं कमा सकता, जो निर्धन हैं उनके मित्र नहीं होते और मित्र के बिना सुख की प्राप्ति नहीं होती।
Meaning :
Those who are lazy do not get knowledge, those who do not have knowledge cannot earn money, those who are poor do not have friends and without friends, there is no happiness.
३. अनादरो विलम्बश्च वै मुख्यं निष्ठुर वचनम् ।
पश्चातपश्च पञ्चापि दानस्य दुषणानि च ।४।
भावार्थ :
अपमान करके दान देना,देर से देना, मुख फेर के देना, कठोर वचन बोलना और देने के बाद पश्चाताप करना- ये पांच क्रियायें दान को दुषित कर देती है l
Meaning:
Donate by insulting, giving late, giving back, speaking harsh words and repenting after giving - these five actions make contaminate charity
४. आलस्यं हि मनुष्याणां शरीरस्थो महान् रिपुः |
नास्त्युद्यमसमो बन्धुः कृत्वा यं नावसीदति ||
भावार्थ:
मनुष्य का सबसे बड़ा दुश्मन उसमे बसने वाला आलस्य हैं | मनुष्य का सबसे बड़ा मित्र उसका परिश्रम हैं जो हमेशा उसके साथ रहता हैं इसलिए वह दुखी नहीं रहता।
Meaning:
Man's greatest enemy is laziness settling in it. Man's greatest friend is his hard work, who is always with him, so he does not remain unhappy
५. अकृत्वा परसन्तापमगत्वा खलनम्रताम्|
अनुत्सृज्य सतां मार्गं यत्स्वल्पमपि तद् बहु||
भावार्थ :
दूसरों को कष्ट न पहुंचा कर और दुष्टों के सम्मुख बिना गिडगिडाए यदि सज्जनों के मार्ग पर हम चल सकें, तो जीवन में इतना किया कार्य भी बहुत लाभप्रद होगा।
Meaning :
If a man follows the path of noble persons without harming others and also without yielding towards the bad persons, then even this little work done by him is the great one.
